Mandatory school age in Hungary is between age 6 and 16 for everyone who resides in the territory of Hungary for more than 3 months.

Daycare for children under the age of 3 years must be provided within the framework of nursery care. All forms of formal care for children under the age of 3 years are considered nursery care.

Kids must go to kindergarten between the age of 3-6 (if the kid turns 3 until 31st of August).

Children reaching age 6 until 31 August become compulsory school-age on 1 September of the same year.
