Adults do not have compuslory vaccines however in cases there are recommended vaccines.
Some vaccines are compulsory for kids in Hungary about which we wrote here.
Some recommended vaccines for adults:
against influenza: Booster vaccination is recommended annually.
against Pneumococcal infection
against hepatitis (type A and B)
against tick-borne encephalitis
against meningococcal infection
against HPV infection
against childhood diseases
The first step of applying for the vaccination is contacting your GP who will inform you about the vaccination (how many vaccines and their scheduling) and prescribes the vaccine for you. With the prescription, you will be able to purchase the vaccine in any pharmacies. After the purchase, the GP will administer the vaccine and they will also provide you the necessary documents that verifies the vaccination.
Vaccines for travel:
If you travel somewhere you would need either compulsorily or recommended other kind of vaccines such as:
laryngitis (diphtheria)
tetanus
whooping cough (pertussis)
cholera
hashtyphoid
poliomyelitis (polio)
measles (morbilli)
smallpox (rubella)
mumps
hepatitis A and B
epidemic meningitis
rabies (rabies)
tick-borne encephalitis (tick-borne encephalitis)
Japanese B encephalitis
yellow fever
You can ask advice from your GP and even buy these vaccines then ask your GP to administer, but as an alternative option there are several “Oltóközpont”-s (Vaccine Centers) around the city where you could get advice and get these vaccinactions. All these Vaccine Centers work with a fee for administering the vaccine, the cheapest is the International Travel Health and Wellness Centre (Nemzetközi Utazás-Egészségügyi és Oltóközpont) run by the state:
