GYED - Child Care Fee

Child Care Fee - GYED

CHILD CARE FEE (GYED):

Eligibility criteria:

Both the mother, the father, and any person considered a parent may be eligible for GYED.

The conditions for eligibility:

·       You must raise your child in your own household.

·       You must have had insurance for 365 days within the two years preceding the child's birth (the insurance does not need to be continuous, but the total number of insured days must add up to 365).

·       You must have been eligible for CSED, and your insurance relationship must have ended during this period (for example, if you lost your job during maternity leave).

Duration of the benefit:

The child care fee is payable from the day after the end CSED or the corresponding period until the child is 2 years old or, in the case of twins, until the child is 3 years old.

The parent can work for an unlimited period in any job in addition to GYED under the general rules.

Amount of the benefit:

The amount of GYED is 70% of the daily base established on the basis of the parent's income, but no more than 70% of twice the actual minimum wage per month, HUF 373,520 in 2024. From the gross amount of GYED, 10% pension contributions and 15% personal income tax are deducted. The parent can claim family allowance on this amount.
